Technical data about winch.

 

Winch is used for glider towing to 800Kg total mass, hercules is 2 drum winch that is repaired overhauled one drum is empty with no cable and on the other drum is dynemma about 1200m but at the end of life, motor is checked by mechanist that have 50 years of experience with that type of engines, on engine boath carters are removed crankshaft is checked, carters are sealed again and inside is Shell oil for that type of engine, transmission is disassembled checked and inside is changed oil, bearings are cleaned checked removed damaged one and oiled again, pneumatic system is checked and changed what needed to be changed, diesel hoses are changed filters are replaced safety valve is putted before diesel pump, diesel pump is overhauled, diesel tank is cleaned, clutch system is overhauled and tuned to start transmission when you lift pedal for about 2 cm, drum brake is tuned, pneumatic sizers are overhauled and cutting system is with new steel cables, drums are cleaned tested and marked with red and white marks for easier operations, lever for drums dialing is checked and tuned to be harder than usual for safety to avoid suddenly drum reaction. Rest of works is done by maintenance manual that is going with winch. Steel parts are sandblasted and painted again, all cracked windows are replaced, and now winch look like better than factory. Winch is tested glider Bergfalke III was towed 3 times.
